Update on Jeff

This is the latest on Jeff via Laur:

"Today is a pretty good day. Jayne just called and they had an appt with another doctor today to see if Gamma Knife was a possibility for treatment. He first of all noticed Jeff's cap which had Isaiah 40 on it...he quoted the verse right to Jayne and Jeff, isn't that somthing? So, he loves Jesus, that is always a plus! He tooked at Jeff's films and said, I think I can help you. It's a treatment called Tomatherapy (sp?) and he says he thinks the odds are 50/50 that he can either stop it from growing, shrink it or get rid of it altogether. That's better odds than we've been given as of late. Jeff will have to have treatment twice a day for 3 weeks in a row...there in Illinois. We're trying to work out the logistics for that yet, but we'll make it work. Jayne is a little scared because one of the possible side effects is some permanent memory loss..so pray about that. She asked me to ask you all to please keep praying, they have definetly felt your support this last week. And with a God like we serve, we just might get our old Jeff back...wow, that would be cool, huh? Thanks for your support, love and prayers. We are blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives! Praise the Lord!"

Matter of Prayer

This is just something to keep in prayer. Note last posts comments from Kay:

"Keep my dad (Case) in your prayers as he has been getting testing done to try and figure out why he is so dizzy and light-headed. He has seen the nurologist and has to see the heart specialist also. They did a brain scan, and are going to do a mri and echogram etc.One doctor thought he might have the start of parkinsons. We pray that is not it. "

"I was wondering also, does anyone know any family medical history? I know grandpa Van Hofwegen had parkinsons. Is there anything else for future reference.Mom had said to me, the Van Hofwegens never get sick you know.I think it would be good to know all these things. Pass the info on somehow if anyone knows anything. Thanks. Kay"

A Little Update On Jordan Beld

Hey Clan, I received this note from Lisa earlier today I just thought I would pass it on. -L

Hello everyone
We had our visit at children's today for Jordan's heart issues. I will try to make this brief and somewhat in "normal" terms.
So he has two problems 1) A-Fib 2) Right bundle branch blockage
both are rare at his age and even more rare together. The Dr at children's said he sees maybe 5 a year with one problem and rarely both.
All of the test we have taken so far,( the file is thick according to the Dr) have been fine, other than showing what we already know.
The Dr released him to start running and playing basketball etc so Jordan was pretty happy about that. (this morning he told us that last night while at the hotel him and his friend took the stairs down all 11 floors at a fast pace--nice to know! :)
So the next step we are taking is to have some Genetic Testing done. They want to determine whether or not it is an inherited problem and if its something the other kids could have. When I mentioned that I have glaucoma and how fast it came on, that seemed to have linked something that could show up as a heart issue in Jordan--very confusing.
We will have the tests done in Aug. along with another Treadmill, EKG and hopefully things will just settle down and not cause more problems.
So the Dr was not able to put what he has into a diagnosis with a reason or prediction on why it happened or where it will go from here. It will just be a bit of a wait and watch situation until we have more tests in Aug.
We are happy and relieved that he will be able to resume his normal activity and pray that his symptoms will not return.
I might not have emails for everyone so feel free to email this to more people that would like to know :)
Thanks for all your prayers and support I hope this makes some sense to everyone.
Lisa

Our Hearts Go Out to Corky and Kay's Family

Corky's brother recently passed away from complications involving pneumonia. Corky's brother Joe went in a week ago with pneumonia and was put on life support until the family made the decision to remove him from it yesterday. He had been having several problems for awhile which were complicated by the failing of his kidneys and liver. Thanks to everyone for their prayers. Please pray for comfort for the family. We're all thinking about your family in this difficult time.
